GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 3:Harvesting

  • After 2 to 3 months, when the yellow dwarf papaya fruits reach a good size with vibrant yellow-orange skin and a sweet aroma, they are ready for harvest.
  • Harvest method: Gently twist or cut the fruit from the plant using a knife or scissors, leaving a short stem to help preserve freshness.
  • With proper care, the plant can continue producing fruits, allowing for multiple harvests over an extended period.
  • Scatter the yellow dwarf papaya seeds evenly in the soil, then cover them with a thin layer of soil (1-2 cm) to aid germination.
  • If sowing in rows, maintain a 30-50 cm gap between plants to allow vines to spread and grow properly.
  • Watering: Water gently once or twice a day to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged.
  • Fertilization: After 10-15 days, apply organic fertilizer or diluted NPK fertilizer to support vigorous vine growth and early fruiting.

STEP 2: Sowing and care

STEP 1: Sow seeds

  • Prepare the soil: Choose loose, nutrient-rich, well-draining soil such as light clay, organic soil, or sandy soil. Remove weeds, loosen the soil, and mix in organic fertilizer or decomposed manure to improve fertility.
  • Seed treatment: Soak the seeds in warm water (2 parts boiling water + 3 parts cold water) for 4-6 hours. Then, wrap them in a damp cloth and let them sit for 6-8 hours until they start to sprout. This speeds up germination.

Magaan magtanim ng papaya—hindi kailangan ng maraming alaga, pero marami pa ring bunga. Malaking tulong ito sa kita ng pamilya.
